What a splendid establishment! The cuisine was absolutely top-notch, just as I remembered. The array of delightful treats was truly impressive!

This place is an absolute gem for a shopping experience! It exudes an air of sophistication and elegance. Some items may come at a steep price, like a simple cotton waistcoat priced at £425! However, the food hall is a delight with its array of fresh produce. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his visit to the whisky center, where he engaged in a leisurely conversation with the knowledgeable expert there who was not at all pushy. The staff members were incredibly friendly, although I must say that overall, the prices here are quite high.
Cheryl Gray (09/09/2025, 11:22):
It is what it is... a store with a well-known food court and lots of merchandise. Didn't feel the friendliest atmosphere from the staff or other customers, but the variety of Scottish pies was superb. And let's not forget the amazing Gingerbread latte made by the friendliest barista. So, I'm giving it four stars just for him!
Christian Kim (08/09/2025, 03:12):
Toilets these days are quite appalling and in desperate need of a thorough cleaning. The moment you walk in, the smell overwhelms you, which was never the case before – truly disappointing! With the high traffic these facilities receive, a frequent deep clean is absolutely necessary. I would have given a 5-star rating if it weren't for this issue.
The restaurant food is top-notch; however, the quality of the roast potatoes has declined as they seem to be frozen rather than freshly made, often turning out soggy.
The store offers a fantastic selection. Whenever I'm en route to the Highlands or returning, I always make a stop here for a food break and to stock up on cheese – it's my go-to place.

We were absolutely blown away by our visit to The House Of Bruar. We were so impressed that we could have easily spent the whole day there. From the incredible buffet offering made-to-order dishes like lobster, to the impeccable selection of antiques, art, and cashmere, this place has it all. Trust me, you do not want to miss out on this gem when you're in Scotland.
Justin Sanders (28/08/2025, 17:59):
I had a jolly good time at this department store, I must say! I purchased some lovely fresh apples and plums and then treated myself to a spot of lunch and tea. The bustling atmosphere with all the lively people was quite enjoyable, and I noticed the diligent workers who kept the place spick and span while taking care of the customers.
Dylan Powell (27/08/2025, 03:55):
I was looking to purchase 4 pairs of shoes but wanted to read reviews first. Surprisingly, there were no reviews on their website! I reached out to their 'live chat' support and they provided me with an email address to request the reviews. To my surprise, the email response directed me to call customer services for the reviews. How does that even make sense over the phone? It seems like either the live chat team is clueless or the email support was just trying to brush me off to the phone lines. It was quite comical, absurd, and disappointing all at once! They are supposedly based in Perthshire, but it felt more like I was contacting people in Brigadoon! After wasting enough time dealing with this company, I have decided not to make any purchases from them in the near future. Potential customers should be aware of how they are treated! It seems like there is an urgent need for re-training and a more customer-oriented website.

What a lovely little pit stop on your way to the Highlands. You'll discover all your favorite snacks and treats for your vacation.
Joyce Ramos (25/08/2025, 18:05):
What a delightful shopping destination! The jackets are particularly splendid with a wide array of brands and helpful tips. The design is exquisite, showcasing high-quality items. The staff is gracious and the service is exceptional. I am thoroughly impressed by this marvelous place, which offers a variety of shops, diverse items, delicious food, and restaurants. It brought to mind the grandeur of Harrods, as everything one could desire is available here.
Mia Carter (23/08/2025, 11:53):
I loved the hot chocolate at the cafe. The art was absolutely stunning, although a bit out of our price range. Cham kindly shared some information about the pieces, what a lovely lad.
Laura Ortiz (21/08/2025, 07:42):
The staff were terribly rude and seemed quite impatient for reasons unbeknownst to us. Furthermore, there appears to be no indoor area designated for patrons waiting with their furry companions during inclement weather. Even when positioned near the entrance, we were promptly asked to relocate. Given the frequent cold and rainy conditions in Scotland, this oversight reflects a blatant disregard from the proprietors towards the comfort of their clientele. Such shortcomings are unacceptable by modern standards for an outdoor clothing shopping village. Additionally, the lavatories are inconspicuously tucked away without any signage for guidance.
Evelyn Peterson (21/08/2025, 01:39):
Absolutely splendid department store, truly upscale. The Falls of Bruar are right nearby, making for a delightful stroll. We shall certainly be back.
Steven Simmons (17/08/2025, 16:58):
The House of Bruar is widely recognized as Scotland's most prestigious independent store, and its grand status at the entrance to the Highlands truly showcases its appeal.
Located on the A9, just a short drive north of Pitlochry, The House of Bruar boasts an extensive range of top-quality products in both the Men's and Ladies' clothing halls. Additionally, the Food Hall offers a touch of luxury with its gourmet produce, artisan delicacies, and a fine selection of whisky and spirits, along with the acclaimed in-store butchery and deli.
Featuring the largest collection of Cashmere in the UK, the Knitwear hall presents a plethora of high-quality natural fibres for you to choose from. The use of natural materials extends to their diverse range of Tweed garments and accessories, reflecting the brand's Scottish heritage.
The Country Living and Present Shop departments provide ample options for decorating your home or finding the perfect gift, embodying country style all under one roof. Take a leisurely stroll through the Art Gallery, showcasing artwork from emerging artists with a passion for Scottish wildlife and scenery.
If you're in need of a bite to eat during your visit, be sure not to miss the Restaurant, offering a range of dishes including a full roast from the Butchery, soups, sandwiches, delectable cakes, and made-to-order meals. You can savor these delights in the heated conservatory, allowing you to enjoy the outdoors regardless of the weather.
The allure of The House of Bruar draws visitors from near and far to its enchanting premises, making it a must-visit destination for anyone traveling to Scotland.
Anthony Hamilton (17/08/2025, 14:31):
Oh, this shopping experience is just delightful! There are so many unique sections to discover, each with a lovely country focus and top-notch quality. And don't even get me started on the restaurant - it's absolutely charming!
Heather Graham (17/08/2025, 06:48):
Fantastic spot! They have a vast selection of outerwear, groceries, and home goods. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the vicinity.
The prices for their products are really good! You'll love browsing the stores and trying out the food. The customer service at the food shops is top-notch too 👊🏽👊🏽👊🏽👌🏽
Sean Murphy (13/08/2025, 14:55):
What a brilliant spot for brekkie! The food emporium was an absolute treat, with a plethora of unique goodies on show. The team members were incredibly accommodating. The attire may be a bit steep in price, but it's all top-notch quality, so no surprises there.
Paul Kim (09/08/2025, 01:38):
We popped in for a spot of lunch and indulged in some delightful dishes at the eatery. Opted for the roast of the day, and what a delight it was to be able to handpick your own veggies. The meat was succulent and bursting with flavor, while the Ale beef pie was simply scrumptious.
Amber Cox (07/08/2025, 19:48):
Top-notch products at a reasonable price.
I snagged a delightful tartan throw for my sitting room from House of Bruar's website. The delivery was surprisingly swift and the product quality is unmatched.
Louis Reyes (05/08/2025, 20:01):
Oh dear, what a pity.... generally decent quality women's and men's products, but if you need to return something, the handling is a mess - make sure the measurements of the item you order are spot on. The return and refund policy of 15 days is alright, but Customer Service won't confirm receipt until the refund is processed, yet they will take payment for an exchange without delay. Come on HOB, improve your game and show some consideration to your customers. Regardless, we won't be shopping with you again; there are plenty of good quality competitors who understand the importance of respecting their customers.
Cynthia Scott (05/08/2025, 04:53):
The establishment is truly enormous, resembling a small town. There is a plethora of attractions in various sections of the stores, offering a diverse selection in nearly every department. The employees are exceedingly courteous and attentive, consistently striving to meet each shopper's needs. A visit is unquestionably recommended!
