I must say, I am absolutely smitten with this charming little garden center! The plants are impeccably cared for, and I particularly appreciate the diverse range of bedding plants they offer. I've discovered some unique species here that I haven't come across anywhere else, and they continue to thrive in my garden years later (my bleeding heart plant holds a special place in my heart). They also have a wonderful selection of seeds for growing, as well as gifts, pet supplies, and items for attracting wildlife.
I have reached out to the shop on several occasions for assistance, whether it be for their doggy photo shoots, Easter events featuring lambs, or other queries, and the owner has always responded to me with the utmost patience and kindness. Considering how busy she must be, I am truly impressed by the time and care she puts into her responses. Where else can you find such personalized attention?
I would love to see a more eclectic selection of orchids, as it mainly seems to be Phalaenopsis these days. Additionally, workshops focusing on plant health would be a fantastic addition to their offerings.

A down-to-earth garden center with top-notch guidance. Plus, a lovely little cafe to boot!

Lovely spot, a tad dear for certain items, but quite reasonable for others.
Edward Richardson (09/07/2025, 20:22):
This garden center eatery is absolutely delightful. It's quite a surprise to find such a gem tucked away in the back of a garden center.
They serve up delicious homemade baked treats, freshly prepared lunch dishes, sandwiches, and an array of breakfast options available all day.
It can get rather bustling during the lunch rush, but it's definitely worth the potential wait.
I highly recommend trying the Stornaway Black Pudding Salad with raspberry dressing and poached egg - a true winner in my book.

A lovely selection of high-quality plants, bulbs, seeds, tools, and a variety of gardening accessories. Run by a friendly family, making it a delightful place to shop for all your garden needs.

Outstanding service and personnel at the cafe. Incredibly helpful and amiable. The cuisine was superb as per usual. It's fantastic to have the convenience of ordering online through the app directly at your table.

Visited the garden center for lunch on Saturday, fabulous staff and delicious food. Top-notch service, would highly recommend it.
Juan Wright (06/07/2025, 01:53):
Incredible selection of food, particularly for those requiring gluten-free options. The service is speedy even on the busiest of days. As a frequent visitor, I always anticipate my lunchtime visit. I wholeheartedly endorse this establishment.
Martha Parker (06/07/2025, 00:31):
What a lovely array of plants and such kind and helpful staff available for guidance. Prices seemed quite reasonable, even more so compared to other garden centers in the area. No need for any waiting in line to enter or to make a purchase. While I didn't have the chance to visit the café, it appeared invitingly open.
Sara Jenkins (06/07/2025, 00:10):
Absolutely splendid assortment of garden-centric products. The café serves top-notch food and coffee that is simply divine. The staff members are incredibly well-versed in their craft and always welcome you with a warm smile, making you feel right at home. I cannot sing their praises enough!👌👍👏
Rachel Williams (02/07/2025, 03:57):
The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly at this garden center. They have a fantastic selection of robust and thriving plants. It's a wonderful family-run garden centre with a charming cafe that offers a wide variety of delicious sweet and savory, hot and cold meals and snacks. Additionally, they have a great range of gluten-free food available. And the best part? They have a designated dog menu! There's even a special seating area just for dogs and their owners. I highly recommend paying a visit - it's perfect for the entire family.
Bradley Butler (01/07/2025, 17:40):
I had a delightful lunch today at the garden center. Jade, who assisted us, was incredibly friendly and accommodating. The food was absolutely delicious.
Terry Murphy (30/06/2025, 00:54):
Stopped by the garden center to pick up some firewood and enjoyed a lovely breakfast while I was there.
Larry Reynolds (29/06/2025, 20:59):
What a delightful garden center and shop! The assortment of indoor and outdoor plants and gifts is truly magnificent. I heard they even have a charming cafe, although we didn't have the opportunity to enjoy it this time around.
Eugene Simmons (29/06/2025, 07:12):
The service at this garden center cafe is just dreadful. It took a good 20 minutes to receive a simple order of tea and coffee. They expect you to place your order through their app, yet fail to mention that you'll need to fetch your own utensils to enjoy your beverage properly. Moreover, my cheesecake was served on a plate without a fork – can you believe it? If they're going to charge such high prices, they really ought to improve their customer service standards.
Beverly Adams (28/06/2025, 20:45):
Food - The breakfast was just okay, the portions were small, and the sausage was cold while the hash browns were soggy. The cakes seemed more appealing than they actually tasted.
Service - The service was quick and attentive, and you can place your order using a QR code.
Atmosphere - The atmosphere was pleasant and cozy, with plenty of tables and a very warm interior.
They also have a charming gift shop.

A proper High Tea no more.
My wife and I have been frequenting Café Panola for tea for the past three years, and we always used to thoroughly enjoy our visits. We brought along a guest on Sunday 19 May, 2024, only to find that the Café has made significant changes to their high tea service, resulting in a noticeable decline in both experience and value. Gone are the days of tea being elegantly presented on traditional tiered trays, now it is all crammed onto a single slate. Sandwich fillings are no longer customizable; they are predetermined for you. Moreover, the sandwiches are now served open-faced rather than closed. While the taste of the food remains good, the overall experience has certainly suffered. To make matters worse, the price has gone up as well. With the increase in cost, the limited options, and the drop in service quality, there are now better alternatives in Edinburgh that offer a more pleasant experience for only slightly higher prices. It's truly disappointing. Change just for the sake of change rarely pays off.
Larry Howard (22/06/2025, 12:51):
The attendant was quite curt with us. She declined to read the specials board, which we couldn't view, but informed us about the two soups available, so we opted for soup. The soup was rather thin. However, the scone was lovely.
Jean Hamilton (21/06/2025, 23:26):
They 'ave a vast array of items to purchase, and I absolutely adore that your furry friend can come along too! They offer fantastic toys for both the little ones and the pups, as well as top-notch garden supplies such as plants and whatnot. The café is simply splendid, with delectable food on offer. I shall certainly be returning!
Andrew Howard (20/06/2025, 22:38):
A great spot for a leisurely stroll, with a decent variety of plants and garden supplies despite the ongoing renovations. The café/restaurant maintained its reputation for top-notch quality, offering a delightful array of savory and sweet treats. However, as with many establishments, prices seem to be on the rise.
