Oh my word, what a marvelous hidden treasure. I ventured here for a swim, initially planning to stay only 10-20 minutes as we anticipated the water would be too chilly. However, we found ourselves still swimming 40 minutes later.

For our inaugural visit, we were thoroughly impressed. It's advisable to wear sea shoes, but this spot is suitable for all swimmers, as the water depth remains consistent and we visited a couple of hours before high tide.

We left our spare clothes on the steps without any security concerns. The only recommendation I have is regarding changing facilities. Consider wearing a cozy jacket or wrap yourself in a towel after your swim, as onlookers from above can see.

It was a delightful outing, and I will definitely return again.

You've got three options for a swim in the area, and St Monans is definitely my top pick. It's one of the quieter spots, in my humble opinion. Local volunteers have put in the effort to keep it clean, even though it might not have had as much funding as the other two pools. You can easily get down to the water at the eastern end near the windmill, thanks to some sturdy steps. When you enter the water here, it starts off shallow and gradually gets deeper. From my unprofessional assessment, the deepest spot I found was just over 1 meter and 80 centimeters in the far left corner from the terrace steps. The rest of the pool is around 1 meter and 20 centimeters deep. It's a satisfying swim, especially since the pool gets a good cleaning during high tide. Accessible all year round, it's a fantastic way to invigorate your senses.

Lovely. Didn't have a dip, you see. There was this notice, can't recall the exact words, but essentially it said that the pool isn't being looked after by the authorities anymore. Such a shame, it's a stunning spot, but I reckon that's a fair warning to proceed with caution.

Fantastic spot, we were staying at St Monans caravan park and it was just a 2-minute stroll from our caravan. It feels incredibly safe and spacious, allowing for a satisfying swim where you can easily reach the bottom in most areas. Absolutely brilliant! 😎
