Great food and a family-friendly store. A must-visit when exploring St Andrews.
Jeffrey Carter (13/09/2025, 02:02):
What a delightful spot for a coffee and a slice of cake, with such charming staff. The selection of goodies in the larder is absolutely top-notch - I couldn't resist and ended up spending around £100 because everything looked so tempting!
Andrew Kim (11/09/2025, 13:55):
Absolutely splendid spot! The coffee and grub are top-notch, and it's perfect for the whole fam. Cheers!
Louis Brown (11/09/2025, 07:14):
Just popped in for a spot of lunch today and both of us went for the ploughman's salad. It was a tad on the pricey side, but nonetheless delightful and crafted with beautiful fresh ingredients.

My main gripe would have to be the driveway and car park situation. It's all well and good if you're driving a 4x4 like the majority of the customers appear to be, but I had to navigate cautiously in my daft lowered car 🤣
Gary Brooks (10/09/2025, 22:10):
What a lovely farm shop and cafe! Ample parking available, and such a fantastic selection of gifts, homewares, and food items. And don't even get me started on those delicious scones!
Nathan Garcia (09/09/2025, 07:25):
My first visit today was quite disappointing. Despite the exceptional farm shop, the experience at the restaurant was a letdown. The staff appeared rude, disengaged, and uninterested. We had to wait 40 minutes for our food without receiving an apology or any updates on the delay. Interestingly, other tables that arrived after us got their food before us. Additionally, we weren't offered any sauces or extra amenities.

The food itself was mediocre at best. However, I did return later in the day to make purchases at the farm shop, which I must say is top-notch.

It's a shame that the restaurant experience was so lacking; it really brings down the overall impression of the place.
Diane King (05/09/2025, 04:30):
Just popped in for a spot of lunch and I must say, the smoked fish chowder was absolutely delightful. I'll definitely be coming back for more!
Jessica Bailey (05/09/2025, 02:58):
A splendid farm shop with all the essentials for a delightful meal or snack. Whenever we find ourselves in St Andrews, this is a must-visit spot. Today, we were fortunate enough to coordinate our visit with lunchtime at the Balgrove cafe, situated on the same premises. Despite a line, it progressed swiftly. The service was exceptionally friendly, and the lunch options were wonderfully diverse.
Daniel Powell (04/09/2025, 19:49):
What a brilliant farm shop/cafe! Yes, the prices may be a tad higher than your average supermarket, but that's because you're getting top-notch quality. The deli and butcher counters are simply outstanding, offering the freshest produce around. The cafe is a must-visit, serving up delicious homemade treats sourced from local suppliers. If you haven't checked this place out yet, you're definitely missing out!
Ann Sanders (03/09/2025, 16:18):
Well now, it's a lovely place indeed, but there was a bit of a lack of friendliness, if you catch my drift. In that snap over yonder, you can spot the steak barn and the pizza box which seemed to be about 50 yards apart. We decided to order a pizza for our wee 2 year old lad, as he was having none of the steak. So we placed the order and headed off to have our steak, given that the wee one wasn't keen on it. But lo and behold, we were told we couldn't dine in as the pizza was only for takeaway... even though it's all part of the same establishment.

And let me tell you, when I was ordering the pizza, I was just standing there, waiting to be noticed... we had spotted this spot from the road and even turned back around to come visit, all excited-like, because usually these places in Scotland are right friendly and welcoming. Alas, this particular spot didn't quite hit the mark. Here's hoping our fellow Americans don't find themselves in a similar pickle in the days to come.
Michelle Morales (31/08/2025, 18:41):
Absolutely splendid farm shop located in a charming countryside setting. The shelves are brimming with delightful and distinctive fare, including dry goods, a top-notch butcher's selection, and beverages. The pizza van parked outside churns out scrumptious, fresh pizzas as captured in the photos. Furthermore, there's a quaint tea room, a well-appointed coffee station, and a tantalizing steak barn that regrettably eluded me during my recent visit. The entire staff exude friendliness and hospitality. The only slight drawback is the modestly-sized and somewhat unevenly surfaced parking lot. Nonetheless, in light of the idyllic surroundings and the array of offerings, this minor inconvenience scarcely detracts from what is truly a must-visit farm shop if you happen to be in the vicinity on a pleasant day.
Dorothy Jackson (29/08/2025, 04:03):
Absolutely top-notch burgers and fries, simply superb. And the prices were quite fair, I must say. Decided to return to the café on a different occasion and it was absolutely fantastic. They offer a delightful selection of sandwiches, and we ultimately went for the roast beef salad sandwich. My wife also tried the tomato and basil soup, and it was truly excellent.
Layla Nelson (27/08/2025, 20:35):
This farm shop is an absolute gem just a stone's throw away from St Andrews. They offer a fantastic range of top-notch local goods and beverages, along with delightful home decor pieces. Their establishment boasts a bar, restaurant, cafe, and flower shop, all exquisitely curated with attention to detail. While the prices may run a bit high, the quality certainly speaks for itself. The staff here are incredibly friendly and hospitable, making for a truly enjoyable visit.
Keith Kelly (26/08/2025, 10:56):
Top-notch service every single time. Absolutely loving getting to explore new flavors and dishes. Kicking things off with a delightful cote de boeuf tonight, and looking forward to trying the Lamb Truffle tomorrow. Exciting stuff! Still remains a fantastic spot to visit. Pro tip: Arrive early if you've got your eye on the Beef Lasagne – it's a real winner and tends to fly off the shelves quicker than I'd prefer 😂😂...
Kyle Kim (23/08/2025, 13:10):
On the 10th of April in the year 2025, I must say, I had a smashing breakfast at this delightful farm shop. The quality of local produce was simply top-notch, creating a truly authentic experience. Can't wait to go back for more! Cheers!
Victoria Stewart (20/08/2025, 08:09):
I've been a faithful Balgove customer for a good 10 years now. But this year, their prices seem to have gone a bit mad, along with smaller portions. I was shocked to see that they're now charging £4.45 for a single chicken kebab that used to cost just £2.75. I almost fell off my chair when I saw my receipt. Also, one kebab was noticeably larger than the other. Three measly cubes of chicken? Really? Let's be fair, Balgove, and not take advantage of your loyal customers.
Chloe Kim (19/08/2025, 12:09):
Superb selection of meats, delightful deli offerings, and a wide range of goods available at this farm shop. The indoor and outdoor cafe is absolutely charming. For an extra special treat, be sure to dine at The Steak Barn!
John Hill (18/08/2025, 08:28):
This shop is absolutely fantastic, mate! The local produce is top-notch and the cafe serves up a proper brew. The restaurant seems like a lovely spot to enjoy a meal as well. Cheers to supporting local businesses!
Elizabeth Morris (17/08/2025, 05:00):
I was quite busy, not unexpected given its popularity. However, the food did take a while to arrive, the seating was rather uncomfortable, and I felt a bit rushed. I almost ended up being charged the incorrect amount too.
James Price (16/08/2025, 01:56):
My kinfolk and I popped by in April 2024 to this delightful farm and cafe for a spot of lunch. The nosh was truly top-notch!

Today, I've got to give a shoutout for the online hamper order I made all the way from the US to be sent locally in St Andrew's. I shot off an email with a couple of queries and got a swift reply from Mr. Martinez-Diaz. He addressed all my concerns and reassured me that the order would go through without a hitch. Not only did the hamper arrive within a day, but most importantly, the lucky recipient reached out to tell me it was absolutely fabulous! Mr. Martinez-Diaz made the whole process a breeze and stress-free. Huge thanks to him and his fantastic team!
