Great supermarket, it stocks a wide range of essential food items and also offers a selection of George clothing. It pretty much has everything you might need!
Bobby Gonzales (14/08/2025, 09:56):
I popped into the supermarket for just a quick browse and ended up leaving with a full basket of goodies! Their selection was so tempting, I couldn't resist grabbing a few extra bits along with the clothing item I originally came in for. What a great find!
Jessica White (14/08/2025, 01:36):
The staff is top-notch, and there's no need to wait in long queues. You can find almost any item here, including electrical appliances like TVs and microwaves. They have a convenient pick-up and drop-off point, and parking is free too.

I usually keep to myself, but I've been a loyal customer of this store since it first opened, and I must say, things have taken a turn for the worse! The expiration dates on the food products are appalling, the staff seem more interested in chatting than working efficiently. But what really irked me was my experience at the self-checkout. There was a woman working there who showed a complete lack of respect and her body language was completely unprofessional. As I was scanning my items, she kept shooting me dirty looks and would approach me whenever I made a mistake, huffing and making snide remarks that made me feel incredibly uncomfortable. I don't like to complain, but as a paying customer, I believe I deserve to be treated with respect.
Mark Harris (11/08/2025, 20:09):
The store in Ardrossan offers a decent range of products, but I can't say I feel comfortable shopping there during these times. Despite the constant reminders about wearing masks and maintaining social distance, the reality inside the store is quite different. Many staff members are not wearing face coverings, and some have even pulled them down to their chin, leaving their mouth and nose exposed! Additionally, there are numerous customers who are also not wearing masks, and it seems like no one is enforcing this rule.

I've made the decision to steer clear of this shop as it's evident they are not taking the necessary precautions to prevent the spread of the virus. During my last visit, I couldn't find any disinfectant spray to clean my trolley. I strongly advise against shopping here, as their lack of commitment to customer safety is alarming. It's not just about making announcements over the loudspeaker; actions speak louder than words. If you're looking for a safer shopping experience, I recommend avoiding this supermarket and instead, opt for TESCO in Saltcoats or Sainsbury's in Irvine.
Martha Allen (08/08/2025, 15:25):
I must say, the customer service was rather subpar. There was this lady at the self-service counter who seemed more interested in chatting with a colleague than attending to the four flashing scanners that were waiting for her attention. She didn't seem to be in any hurry at all, just leisurely carrying on with her conversation until she felt like getting around to it. Quite disappointing, I must say.
Rose Hernandez (07/08/2025, 05:36):
This establishment is positively frigid in the evenings, I must say it's quite baffling how the employees manage to endure those chilly conditions. It really ought not to be tolerated. Typically, I don't fuss much about the cold. On a brighter note, the assistance provided at the self-checkout was splendid. After 10 pm, you are required to scan all items yourself, but the young lad was most accommodating. Much obliged.
Ralph Lopez (06/08/2025, 10:46):
I went to the supermarket on a Saturday expecting it to be open until 11pm as Google had stated, but when I arrived at 10:05pm, the store was already closed. It's frustrating that even 11 months later, this issue still hasn't been fixed.
Abigail Ramirez (01/08/2025, 23:54):
The coffee is splendid, but if the lady behind the counter were to crack a smile, I reckon it would be a miracle, as it certainly wouldn't be genuine!
Philip Gutierrez (01/08/2025, 03:33):
A splendid selection of goods along with apparel and home decor. The staff is exceedingly helpful and amiable at every turn. It's certainly worth a visit, as I will undeniably return.
Arthur Gonzales (30/07/2025, 02:31):
The staff at Supermarket are absolutely brilliant, and the customers are lovely too! I visit in my wheelchair, and everyone is so incredibly helpful.
Victoria Jordan (29/07/2025, 09:39):
I absolutely adore this supermarket. I've been a loyal customer since its grand opening. The staff members are absolutely marvelous, attentive, and so kind. Their dedication and hard work truly shine through. They never fail to put a smile on my face, always going the extra mile for their customers. Thanks to them, I was introduced to the fabulous rewards program. They truly deserve all the recognition and rewards, as they are the heartbeat of the store.
William Young (27/07/2025, 03:40):
I went to the supermarket to grab some groceries. The person who was supposed to deliver my order just placed it on the table without acknowledging me, which made the whole situation quite awkward. I don't think I'll be going back there again.
Justin Evans (26/07/2025, 09:49):
I must say, I have observed a rather disheartening situation at Asda. It appears that the individual in charge of cleanliness ought to be let go, brought back, and then let go once more. The view from the upstairs café reveals a rather unsightly scene on the top shelves. The gray areas in the images should, without a doubt, be white. We are discussing an egregious amount of grime that seems to have accumulated over the course of many years. Just take a peek at the hanging display screens and the lengthy shop lighting bars stretching from left to right – they should, by all means, be pristine white. It's almost as if a Petri dish would boast a higher standard of cleanliness. (Where on earth has Asda been for the past 4 years?)

If one were to cast their gaze along the summits of ALL the aisles within the store from the café, they would discover that they all mirror the distressing state captured in these images. As I dined, my eyes fell upon this sight, leading me to ponder considerably. Prices continue to soar while the level of care and attention plummets with each passing day. Have they completely forsaken any sense of pride? Who would permit their establishment to reach such deplorable levels of filth without taking any corrective action? After all, food is retailed in this very store. One could literally inscribe their name in the grime on the upper shelves and framework.

Would they tolerate such neglect within their own abodes? It seems as though they adhere to the philosophy of "Clean what can be seen and ignore the rest." This kind of cavalier attitude towards cleanliness is truly disheartening. The summits of the food aisles are just as appalling. Muck harbors germs, Asda. And no germ that I'm aware of is courteous enough to confine themselves solely to the top shelf without eventually venturing elsewhere. I shudder to think about the conditions of other unseen areas within the store that might mirror this abhorrent state.

This has left me utterly appalled. (I brace myself for the forthcoming attempt at damage control.)

People are not naive, Asda. They possess the discernment to recognize that such a degree of filth doesn't accumulate overnight; it's the result of YEARS of neglect.

I shall be forwarding these photographs, alongside numerous others taken concurrently, to the pertinent authorities.

(I wouldn't be surprised if they opt to shut down the café to evade scrutiny. It likely proves more cost-effective than actually addressing the issue.) Well, in the event that they do, I happen to possess a four-foot-long selfie stick. !!

While I'm at it, I reckon I'll pay a visit to your other branches. !

Update: Here I am once more on August 29th, and regrettably, it remains unattended. Their condescending responses hold no weight. It has been 14 days since I shared the images, and yet the filth prevails.

Update: Fast forward to November 5th, and alas, there has been no improvement. Their response indicated that the matter would be conveyed to the manager. I can only reiterate that said manager should be dismissed, reinstated, and then let go once more. No matter what one may vocalize to them, their replies amount to mere lip service.

WORDS WITHOUT ACTION.

I now intend to upload the images to YouTube.
Ella Foster (24/07/2025, 23:46):
Lovely store, quite convenient being just next to the ferry terminal. They've got a little cafe as well that dishes out cafeteria-style grub. The folks working there are really pleasant and ready to lend a hand.
Joseph Butler (23/07/2025, 12:40):
I absolutely LOVE the ASDA Store, which happens to be my local supermarket. I make it a point to visit the café there every day because not only is the staff incredibly friendly, but also the atmosphere is top-notch. Nevertheless, it seems that there's a bit of a maintenance issue with some of the machines, which can be quite vexing for both customers and staff alike. For instance, just today, I noticed that the dishwasher and the hot water faucet were out of order, and the toaster seems to be constantly on the fritz. I strongly believe that the head office should provide more support to address these issues promptly. It would certainly enhance the overall shopping experience for everyone involved. Cheers!
Julia Perez (22/07/2025, 11:16):
Fabulous for grabbing some last-minute bits before catching the ferry to Arran!
Helen Foster (21/07/2025, 19:49):
Absolutely shocking! I will not be returning. Only 2 tills were open, and the self-serve option was beyond belief! Luckily, one lady was very helpful despite the chaos and the lack of staff.
Jose Gray (20/07/2025, 09:42):
This review is specifically for the café. Let me tell you, mate, that sausage sandwich was an absolute disaster! I mean, it was so awful that it was actually funny!
Donald Ortiz (17/07/2025, 05:43):
Lovely kitchen diner. The variety is impressive. My fries were a tad cold, but when I mentioned it, they swiftly replaced them within 5 minutes.
