I simply must say something about the rather rude member of staff I encountered at the supermarket this evening. It truly baffles me why some individuals choose to work in customer-facing roles when they clearly lack even a basic understanding of good customer service etiquette. The management really ought to address this issue promptly. The staff member in question went through the usual motions of quickly scanning items at the checkout without any care, causing groceries to collide with one another. To add insult to injury, she then stood idly by as I struggled to load my bags. As if that wasn't enough, when I started to load my trolley in the designated area, she abruptly asked me to move it so she could pass, despite me not having finished packing. Throughout the entire transaction, there was a complete absence of any pleasantries or basic courtesy. Quite disappointing, to say the least.

The team at this supermarket is top-notch. However, their deals on Mondays and Thursdays can be a bit hit or miss. Occasionally, they may receive deliveries, but sometimes they don't. I recently missed out on lavender plants and the heat weed killer machine. If you're looking to shop, try going in around 7pm after work – you'll find their shelves are still well-stocked. Plus, it's easy to navigate in and out of the store.

Lidl is an absolutely brilliant supermarket for grabbing all your day-to-day bits like fruits, veggies, pasta, and more. Their variety of seafood is top-notch and won't break the bank, and a fair bit of it comes with that MSC stamp, guaranteeing sustainable fishing practices.

Their bakery is a real gem too, churning out freshly baked croissants, bread, and other goodies. The store is kept tidy, the staff are a friendly bunch, and they've got this nifty bottle recycling scheme going on.

Bit of a letdown though when I found out they've scrapped the rewards for recycling bottles, despite saying the trial was a success.

And I must say, they could step up their game with meat-free and plant-based options - their main rival offers a wider range in that department. Plus, there always seems to be too many shopping trolleys blocking the walkways in the trolley return area.

I can't stress enough how much easier it would be for shoppers if they introduced a self-checkout option. It's a pain being stuck in a queue when you just want to dash in and out with a few bits. Self-checkout would make things so much smoother, helping customers dodge those pesky long lines and have a more streamlined and chill shopping trip.

Overall, Lidl is an awesome spot for your grocery shopping, but there's definitely room for improvement in a few areas.
